Well, where do I start. NGU was the website I visited the most for the latest gaming news, mods, and etc. I had some good times here, memorable times that I will never forget. I first started as a kid who had nothing but spare time and always looked for MW2 hacks... Yes, back in the day where Modern Warfare 2 hacks were almost never seen and people people were paying $10 for challenge lobbies, long before geohot released his 3.55 CFW. As I became an active member I came to meet some very good and friendly people. The staff members were great, they were always helpful and excelled at their job of keeping the website clean of trolls and keeping it a user-friendly environment. I don't want anyone, especially the current staff twisting my words and think I'm trash talking them, but on the contrary because it seems like you guys have been doing an awesome job at keeping things running smoothly around here. So big shout out to the management here, the job is well done and the community is as welcoming as it was when I first joined! It's been a while since I've logged into the website so forgive me if I am posting in the wrong section or breaking any rules obliviously, I have no intentions of breaking any rules whatsoever. But, NGU was a rather fun place I could go to, to talk to people, get assistance with any issues I had, and keep up with news as new and better things came out to the public for the video-gaming community. I remember back in the day when there the moderators had a thick, dark blue color on their name, the administrators were red, as usual, and the news reporters had a pink color. I met two of the most easy going, laid back dudes on this website, CLM and iDelete.
I had gotten so much into the community that I wanted to contribute to helping the website out instead of just being that member who just looked for mods and nothing more; I wanted to do something beyond that. So it wasn't long before I decided that instead of waiting for news to be posted, instead I'd start doing my research and bringing the news myself. So I started working on my grammar, vocabulary, and made sure I had a colorful choice of words before doing what I set my goal to be. I'm gonna be honest, if I posted any news article on the website with the way my vocabulary was I'm pretty sure it'd get closed because no one would comprehend what I was trying to say. So I did what I had to do in order to do more than just post, and began doing my research. I had a good time bringing news to NGU and surprisingly I was very busy. Back when I decided to do this, CFW's were being released left and right by different people as the releasing of geohot's modded firmware opened a new door to the world of PS3 modding. But those weren't the only news being available to the public; multiMAN and etc. were also being made available.
As much as I wanted to remain an active member of the community, unfortunately I couldn't continue to participate any longer as life hit me with tons of time consuming responsibilities and of course, leaving me with no time to log in and do what I wanted to do. I eventually moved on to getting employed by an Apple store which is only a few minutes away from where I live, plan on going back to finish college in the upcoming year or so, and am now completing 4 years with my girlfriend on 20th; don't worry folks, I plan on popping the big question very soon! I regret to say that I will no longer be an active member of the website and decided to write this to reminisce on all the good times I had as a member, and remember the people I became friends with. It was one hell of a ride, and thank you Outsider for keeping the website as awesome as it has ever been. Keep up the good work, there's far bigger things headed your way! Best of luck to you and the staff, and to the current members, you made the right choice. Cheers everyone.
