Pixie has it right. If you're not willing to put forth the money, stick with console. I personally spent 1.7k on my rig.
However, over time it really does eventually pay for itself as compared to console.

Up front you're definitely going to be paying more. Especially if you building a computer that you'll be able to play newer titles five years down the road. I think I topped out around $1.5k for my current computer. I sorta planned on upgrading an older computer I have with a new mobo and processor eventually. I'm more interested in purchasing a capture card and using what I have in it as a second streaming PC. Of course, it's probably a moot point now since I stopped streaming a year ago and can't ride off the coat tails of some large YouTubers who frequently raided my stream.
