Follows the story of high school student who is finds a supernatural notebook which can kill anybody with just name or face.
Killing criminals in order to remove evil from the world.
Detective known as L tries to stop him with his plan. Both are brilliant detectives playing a game of cat and mouse.

Normally not a fan of anime but this series is soooooo good
Avoids normal anime flaws which is to play fan service or girls have giant boobs.

Female characters play small role but not sex objects

Death note is good should watch it even if you don't like anime.

I never really liked Anime, but this sounds good. Where did you watch it?
