Don't know why they keep releasing Star Wars so late in the year.

You can watch the sequels (4 thru 6) and get the gist of the story. If you're gonna watch the prequels, you should watch chapter 1 and 3. The 2nd one can be skipped, as the clone wars was tediously long.

You should man. I'm at a point in life where when I was younger that's something I didn't get into because they were so long and I was a kid with a short attention span. As I got older I started to understand some of Star Wars and decided to watch The Force Awakens. Should give it a shot you may start to like the series

I watched The Force Awakens and I'm working backwards. I know I'm horrible but where should I start besides that one. Like did I ruin it for myself by watching The Force Awakens ?

Nah, it's so much into the future, you really didn't spoil much besides knowing Darth Vadar is Luke's father, or that Luke and Leia are siblings. Those tho things were central to the original trilogy. But you'll be letting yourself down to not see the insane Luke vs. Darth Vadar fight, or Harrison Ford being a young badass.

December is usually said to be the best month for the awards season
