(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); As the title says, I am thinking about getting a Drone and have been reading reviews on the internet and doing a little research. I plan on using it for fun mostly but it will be used for work also so I need one that has decent real time video, stable in normal weather, good battery life and can travel a decent distance. I am only wanting to spend around $250, preferably less. Problem is that there are so many 3-4 star rated drones for that price that I can't really decide. I am hoping at least a few members of the NGU community have experience with drones and are willing to share their perspective to help me with the purchase. Like I said, it will mainly be for fun but I will be using it when working surveillance also. I am a Private Investigator and I need the camera quality to be decent so I can capture claimants on video and it not look like shit. I do live in the United States, Michigan to be exact, and I understand the rules regarding Unmanned Aircraft Systems Registration and that will not be an issue for me at all. Thanks for taking the time to read this and I look forward to hearing your opinions.

Pretty sure being an Private Investigator going to cause it own legal troubles on top. Don't believe we have any drone owners on the forum.

I figured that when nobody responded, lol. I am licensed and in the State of Michigan you legally lose all rights to privacy any time you are outside of your dwelling. Even if your standing in front of an open window in your home your right to privacy is lost. That is why people get charged with indecent exposure for standing in their door way or in front of a window while nude. Legally though, I have many more rights to that invasion of privacy because I am licensed also. That is why I am allowed to place tracking devices on peoples vehicles and I can even trespass onto their property without worry from the law. No worry about breaking laws but there is a lot of worry about the homeowner shooting me, lol. Oh well though. I just thought I would ask.

Four thoughts on this:

1. Jgood is my nickname due to my first and last name.....Do you have the same name as me? Are we related?
2. I've always wanted to meet a private investigator
3. Definitely purchase the drone (Can't help you with recommendations)
4. Adding a drone community on NGU with badass footage would be awesome
