With live 360-degree videos, you can watch live events in 360-degrees, panning around as if you’re there in person. And, if you own a virtual reality device, like Google Cardboard or the Gear VR, you should be able to step right into the action. YouTube said it’s celebrating the launch with live streams of Coachella performances next weekend, which means you’ll be able to tune in on some of the live concerts, allowing you to pretend you’re front row at the California concerts.

In addition to 360-degree live streams, YouTube said it’s also launching a new spatial audio feature for YouTube’s “on-demand” videos. “Just as watching a concert in 360 degrees can give you an unmatched immersive experience, spatial audio allows you to listen along as you do in real life, where depth, distance and intensity all play a role,” YouTube said.
