I'm looking forward to it. I think McCarthy is hilarious, she can simultaneously do silly and lovable at the same time. The SNL cast is good too, the only person I grew tired of was Wiig and was because she was constantly overused on sketches but she is talented. I'm trying to think of an all male cast that would actually work? Any current SNL members? I don't think so, the ladies are funnier.
"The power of pain compels you!" Haha classic Jones! I guess you have to like the actors initially too. I don't know why there are so many more dislikes than likes, sexism or nerd nostalgia? If they made a new Back to the Future I'm sure everyone would be all over that too like they were with the Star Wars prequels. I don't think the new Star Trek movies were better than the old ones, but I still liked them. The Ghostbuster characters weren't set in stone, they were just people who got together; and anyway didn't the original cast give them their blessing?
PS: It's sad that I instantly recognized which TNG episode that clip was from...oh I wasted my life...
I LOVE McCarthy. I think she's brilliant. I thought she was hilarious in Tammy. Especially the Topper Jack's robbery scene. I'm giggling thinking about it. I also adore Wiig in The Skeleton Twins. In particular

Ok, I got it". Thinks: FFS!
It's sad to say but I think there's a big element of sexism in there. I'm hoping they'll prove people wrong. They've certainly got the talent to make something special out of it but I'm afraid loads of folks have their minds already made up.
