wow, now you're just being a jerk. they aren't high school drop-outs, and they are worshiped by many. Just search John Petrucci, Mike Portnoy, Jordan Ruddess, and Tony Levin. They have record contracts, and definately have more skill than 99.999999999999% of the population. Random shredding obviously isn't what they're doing, your brain just can't comprehend that many notes. There are obvious patterns in the music that you just can't seem to find, and as a result condescend it because it makes you feel better. Good job .

just because they play a different genre and sound different than what you like doesn't mean they suck. They play live shows, so who cares if their album version has computer EQ's on it? why compare them to those you mentioned? If you live life comparing everything then you will never really get the full value out of it. Most prejudice starts with comparisons.

I wouldn't turn into a hypocrite if I were you. You tell me that I compared them to people with real skill that play enjoyable music, yet you say "OMG THEY THE BEST EVER MADE SO GTFO". It's shitty music, and when someone needs sound effects to sound remotely talented with both their $20 guitars and their songwriting, they fail massively.
