If i was you i'd do my research so you know beforehand exactly what you're getting into as far as PC gaming goes as from what i've seen it's a completely different beast from console gaming so it's not something you can simply jump right into. But after that if you still wanna go for it then by all means do it and if you do ever need help there are tons of PC gamers on NGU that'll be glad you help you out Smile

I'd love to but i don't play on PC myself. I'm sure one of the hardcore PC gamers will pop in hare and gladly give you a hand Smile

Depends what games you play, price of the machine and if you can upgrade it every few months (ie do you have a job)

It's honestly not entirely different. I usually ask people two questions, "Can you type?" and "Can you mouse around in a desktop environment?" The answers are typically yes because most people in this day and age have interfaced with a computer at some point in their lives, if not daily. I'll concur though most people will be a bit awkward at first but I think it's more mentality and overthinking. It's like writing. You use your hand, wrist, and a bit of arm especially if you use low sensitivity like I do. :p

You don't need to upgrade every few months. Granted if you have the money and you're one of those people who have to constantly get the latest and greatest you can. But I haven't upgraded in about two years and I'm still capable of running the newest games. But I also stick to first person shooters and low graphic settings to maximize my frames.

Do you currently have a job, or another form of stable income? If so I'd definitely recommend holding out as to increase your budget by at least $300 or $400. That way you're floating around the $800 to $900 range which will allow you to get a lot more bang for your buck. Then again you might be able to find someone letting go of their old hardware for a good price.
