its an animated .gif image. You can make them in flash or another program and just use them the same way you would a still image.

well i made one already but it should be my avatar but it aint workin. maybe it's to big a' file?

that could be the problem. just make the quality lower and it should work (look at mine, thats the highest quality I could get it to use as my avatar.)
