(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Maybe common sense but i thought id post and help a few people out, I'm not sure if its been posted here or not but ill share my way of getting around the character/stats reset when launching into online... Could possibly work for Xbox too.

If you unfortunately load up GTAO and you're greeted with the character creation start then hold down the ps button and turn off your PS3. Start GTA but load into single player then once its loaded press the start/menu button, choose online then click play online and the the desired session you want.

You can always double check its loaded it by choosing 'choose character' it should show your current player progress.

NEVER, If asked, change your characters appearance (i think it was) when starting online, it will prompt you on the screen... From what i've been hearing with my mates this could be the cause of player reset/overwriting, seeing as those whose characters have been reset permanently have clicked ok to change and its quite possibly overwritten their progress.. so just cancel the message and continue as normal.

I had to use a temp player. I turned my Xbox off then back on because I didn't want to lose all of my money and stuff.


When it says error cloud server blah blah blah just keep trying and it'll be fine.

It did say do I want to change my appearance and I choose to do so. I still have all my money, guns ect..

thats good to hear, a handful of my friend that have been reset choose to do so.. suppose it could just be a part of the cause

I tried this but my character is still gone, I been trying everything. My money is still 50k in bank but my character is gone

just keep trying if its showing cash its saved still surely

I did and now my moneys gone. Ughhhh R* really knows how to push buttons. thanks for the help anyways.

EDIT: Now my money is back.. Keeps saying Cloud servers has been lost, I think my saved character is gone for good
