Well, when i'm done with that other game, I want to get back on GTA. WELL EVERY FUCKING TIME I LOAD IT UP, IT JUST FREEZES AND GOES TO A BLACK SCREEN. And that's only one of my problems. Another problem I have every once-in-a-while is it won't go past the loading screen with the cover art. I'm getting tired of this bullshit. Now, what is it, my GTA or PS3?

If its online it could be your connection. but i rarely hear of online games freezing because of internet connection(console wise). And from the ps3 view it could very well be the PlayStation. I have a New slim on the latest ofw cooled the best i can and it freezes with a couple games.

with everything being said, could be both. but the servers were fixed of gta so it should not freeze because of that any more. So if anything it is your ps3.

Check you have all the correct ports open.
I have seen people get freezes like this its mainly network based due to the game. Not had any lockups like that yet.

I fixed that, now I can't go straight into online, but rather first to invite only, then join a random session. Now I know that's my connection.

it happened to me alot and what fixed it was i used a hoover to clean out all the dust from the inside of the ps3, so your lens my be blocked. also i rebuild the hardrive using the safe mode, safe mode: turn ps3 off then hold on button till it turns on the off again then hold it again until it bleeps twice and then let go, then choose rebuild hard drive but DONT PRESS RESTORE HARDDRIVE otherwise you wipe all your data.
