1. I'm stuck on Michael and can not switch to franklin or Trevor.
2. I can not play tennis, yoga, jet ski, stock race, darts, or trailathon.
3. I can not trigger any missions or Strangers & Freaks.

I can:
1. Go to Los Santos Customs
2. Use Michaels special ability
3. Buy guns from the ammunition store.
4. Go to the strip club.
5. Purchase property.
6. Get a wanted level, take damage & die.
7. Replay previously completed missions.

Still not working? Then, I would suggest deleting your gamesave then and try again... So, completing the tutorial and then seeing if you can transfer.

I'm not starting over okie dokie lol
