(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey guys, I made a paypal because one of my relatives was going to send me some money through it. Well they sent it, and I tried to spend the cash but it told me something about linking a bank account.

So do I NEED to link my bank account to my paypal in order to spend the received money? If so that's stupid.

if your spending through a card yes, other than that no, the only way to pay for things without a linked acc etc, is to purchase through a paypal only method

Yeah because I'm not paying with my credit/debit card. I'm using the money I received from a relative to pay. So I don't need to link it if I'm using the balance in my account?

no but you have to be buying something with a paypal option, that option takes it from your balance

Well I think cobra helped me out here on the phone. It tells me that the purchase exceeds the limit I can spend, and to lift it I need to link my account to my bank account or I need to get a stupid paypal credit card. That's so stupid. Anyone know if theres a way to increase the limit without lifting it?

I'm not 100% sure since I made both my PayPal accounts before I think they had this restriction. Do you have the option of adding a credit card/debit card to lift the limit, or only a bank account? How much money are you trying to spend? Is it a monthly limit or a maximum amount you can spend in one purchase?
