Haxor!
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); This is freaking ridiculous. I can't even browse the web anymore without the FAP kicking in as little as a few hours without downloading anything.

You may tell me to GTFO, Do my research or live with it, as a typical fanboy/shill of anything would say. Well let me say something, I have done my research.

However let me say something.

My family is paying a little over a $100 a month for internet, without being able to get online over half the Time because of a ridiculous policy, which by no means is fair at all and rather unfair.

We wanted fast(er) internet, and while we got it there was no mention in the service contract or the Ad's about a bogus and ridiculous policy.

Ever since they revised the (Un)Fair Access policy on April 18th, we've had nothing but problems. After exceeding the allotted Bandwidth Magically somehow, not only is our account slapped with Worse than Dial-Up speeds, our account becomes totally useless for 24 hours.

We don't pay mega money for bogus restrictions like this, relaying anything to tech support is a joke and a waste of time. It's usually the routine of, "Sir Unplug your modem/router and plug it back in. Wtf, that is not the friggin' problem. They hardly understand you nor can you understand them and they barely speak loud enough where you can here them. Why couldn't they just base the tech support in America. Is Hughes net really that cheap where they'd rather pay a bunch of inexperienced Indians who only follow a script than a bunch of trained and experienced professionals.

What the heck are we paying for? To me the Fair Access Policy is just a big joke or cover up, to screw the customer over and squeeze every last dime out of them. Does Hughes net care about their customers/subscribers? I think not, or else they would listen to them instead of disregarding them every time and ignoring them and actually give us what we want without bogus restrictions.

They think because Satellite internet is our only option for broadband, that they can screw us over and rape us in hardware and subscription fees.

Well for one, I paid for Broadband speeds and that's what I want, not some half-arsed service that only provides partial broadband and if you exceed some bogus limit you are instantly slapped with worse than dial-up speeds and a totally un-usable service.

People get broadband solely for the purpose of downloading large files, not surfing the web. If we wanted to surf the internet faster with moderate to small downloads, we would just use a Dial-up ISP with acceleration/caching technology instead.

Fact is the majority needs/uses broadband to download large files not possible or extremely hard on Dial-Up. How the Heck am I supposed to download Linux ISO's, my Freeware games and Windows Updates/Updates with being Fap'd constantly? Essentially Hughes net is basically saying for us to run an insecure/virus prone computer as some windows patches are larger than 200 megabytes (Service Packs).

Sure I can use a Download Manager, but I like my downloads to finish as fast as possible as I don't have time to keep monitoring bandwidth and starting/stopping my downloads from a download manager.

It's not only the Problem with FAP, there is also the issue with the extremely low bandwidth they offer. While most of the world is on 1 Mbit - 25 Mbit Lines like Cable/DSL/Fios, we are stuck with incredibly crappy bandwidth of 512-768 Kilobits.

What is Hughes's problem? What are they doing, monkeying around? They shouldn't offer a service or be an ISP if they can't keep up with underlying demands of the consumer and offer people what they want, or improving their existing network. They rather just take peoples money and strike them with ridiculous bandwidth restrictions without improving anything in their network for existing Customers/Subscribers.

There is extensive amounts of advancement in technology which makes a fair access policy or a Fair Access policy as strict such as what Hughes net imposes totally unnecessary.

If Cable/DSL/Fios users don't have to put up with it, why do we?

I hope they don't forget what is paying their paychecks every week or month. That's right the Customer/Subscriber is. They would be nothing without us, so they better be careful and actually listen to the customer, what they want and improve upon that. Not being a bunch of greedy wallet stuffing egocentric arrogant B***tards hypothetically speaking.

Please don't delete this post as you will be wasting your time (I know these forums are popular for censoring user expression and disappointment in these companies, which also hinders freedom of expression)I'm keeping an archive of this post backed up on my computer encase this post/thread is deleted. Also you might not want to throw a ban at me for what I'm saying because I am accessing this website from my schools network and you might destroy someone Else's chance to register and access this websiteWinky Winky

Also to close this I've heard from someone who offers a website for technical advice for Hughes net, that people or coders/hackers are trying to bypass the FAP restrictions so it doesn't have to be dealt with, but they have been unsuccessful thus far. I haven't been able to find info on Google about this, and I am asking for a link to a website where people are working on this so I can keep my eyes peeled encase they have any success.

If theres ways to uncap your modem, why not a way to Bypass FAP through a Third Party modem firmware hack or software to essentially make it seem as if you aren't downloading anything, thus eliminating FAP. After all isn't FAP regulated through the modem software itself which relays the information to the Hughes net terminal?

Also I could care less about my account being terminated as I've already have had it up to my neck with Hughes net, and were about to go back to Dial-Up if we can not find a solution. So you can threaten me with informing Hughes net and giving them my IP because I really don't care, I really don't.

I'm hoping you'd rather make a good decision and play nice by not closing this thread or deleting it and offer a decent solution or help. I really hope you have more decency than to flame me and actually understand why I'm frustrated and Pss'd off and actually help me instead of criticizing and flaming me.

Thank YouSmile
