So i got a new modem its working great.. connecting to the internet on everything in the house.. i go to wire up my ps3 i sign in open up MW2 and i cant frickin connect to any server im stuck on match making server.
So my question is.. Can anyone tell me what i need to do to fix this i can sign in but not connect to any mw2 + black ops servers.. Is it DNS stuff? please help me ,

What NAT type is you connection? It needs to be either 1, 2 or 3 to succesfully connect to a lobby. If it shows up as nothing then that's why you can't connect usually reseting the router sorts this out.

My NAT is 2.
I have tried reseting the modem about 10 times.

Still doesnt work now my old modem i stuffed i cant play online someoe please help.

so i take it you have a router else you would be getting nat type 1 when connecting to a modem . Go to your router page and make sure upnp is enabled give your ps3 a static ip one you configure i.e 192.168.1.22 with subnet 255.255.255.0 default gateway and dns are the same as your router normally 192.168.1.1. goto your router and put your ps3 ip in the DMZ zone (not subject to firewall or closed ports[demilitarized zone]) and save apply reboot everything from modem to ps3 and see how that goes
