I'm back from the dead
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So I've been browsing the internet and using the computer for like 10 years now, and I loved it, but now I just can't decide what to keep me occupied on my laptop when I have internet.

I hate PC Games, Illegal Hacking(like stealing things), and Long-Term money-making processes(like getting famous on youtube crap)

Any suggestions? I keep switching between my Facebook and YouTube all week and get bored. Please no stupid replies like GO OUTSIDE and things of that nature. I have a life, but I love my laptop.

Thanks in advance

So, you don't want to do nerd things like gaming, hacking, or programming. You don't want to do entrepreneurial and adventurous things like starting a YouTube channel. You get bored being social on websites like Facebook. That's kind of a tough situation.

Some people like to blog, others like to visit forums or websites like 4Chan, others still like to watch TV shows or movies (on Netflix or Hulu), but while the Internet is a place of great knowledge, wonder, and fun, you have to seek it out and find what you want to do. "Dislikes" are a lot less helpful than "likes" when asking for advice on such open ended things.

But really, if you feel like in those ten years you've exhausted everything, tried and disliked, perhaps computers isn't great for you (anymore).

Well, I've tried making a youtube channel MANY times, never succeeding in making useful, or funny videos. I want to learn programming, but I keep getting bored of it then eventually quitting then wanting to go back but not do all the stuff again, although Visual Studio is very fun. I like PS3 in my leisure time but PC Gaming just... not the same feel. I would actually like to start hacking, only reason I said I don't like it is the fact that I just DO NOT understand, Steals, Decrypters, Crypters, etc. If you can help me that would great! I just need something to keep me occupied when I open my laptop. Movies and TV make me feel useless, like I could do better with my time. NGU is my forum so yeah..

Take up watching anime and browsing /a/ you'll never want to go outside ever again. That's what I do and I've never looked back. Also when you say you dislike games do you actually dislike all games or just standard ones like MW2 etc. because there a a load of good games out there that are not conventional games like Yume Nikki (Dream Diary) very similar to Pokemon style but essentially you play as a girl that lucid dreams and you explore here dream world searching for items and once you collect them all you complete the game.

If hacking is something that interests you, then it and programming go hand in hand (so you may want to try out both). Programming can become tedious, but if you find a good teacher, and you have a passion for it, it becomes enjoyable, though its certainly not for everyone. I'd be happy to help you learn programming or hacking, just let me know what you're interested in (what sort of things do you want to program and/or hack).

An alternative to YouTube would be something like creating your own website, forum, social network, or blog. If you like NGU, perhaps you could push yourself, maybe set a goal to become a staff member by a certain date, or something like that.

I find, that on forums, the more connections and friendships you can build with people, the better, because it leads to interesting things. While its great to have real life friends, I'd say that I value my friends on here and other forums equally, as they open you up to many more opportunities.

I would like to learn C, unless you recommend something else? Also, I'd like to be able to do just simple hacking like maybe viruses that log data to you from a victim?

There's plenty of resources for learning C! Personally, my first language was C, so despite my bias towards it, its not the best language simply because it takes longer to create things than other languages, but I will not deny that it can be used to create powerful viruses. First off, a free, online resource: You must login or register to view this content.. Personally, my favorite book is Ivor Horton's Beginning C Programming which can be purchased from You must login or register to view this content. (or you could find it free online if you're that type of person).

First, focus on the basics, once you've got those down, let me know. To log data from a victim, you're probably talking about a keylogger, which logs a user's keystrokes and sends it back to you. Once you get down the basics, I can point you in the right direction to start on a keylogger, and perhaps give you a very simple source as to how it could be done. Just remember: small steps. Your first program is gonna look like:

#include <stdio.h>

int main(void)
{
printf("Hello world!");
return 0;
}

And all its going to do is open up a little terminal window and echo out "Hello world!".

Have you ever thought about doing some visual stuff? like making youtube intros? Have you ever thought about making songs/remix's? These things can be done on your computer with a little bit of help from a youtube tutorial. :y:

I'll have to check that book out, I've done a bit of C, just up to like variable and Random strings. I'll see if that book is enjoyable
