How to Spot Fake Torrent Files.

In this Tutorial will i go deeper with things from This thread

Scammers and dishonest P2P individuals use false torrents to phish people's identities, bilk them for money, or vandalize their computers through trojan infections.

Examples:

Movies

Example 1

You must login or register to view this content.

This one is really easy to spot.

file help.txt? What help to an .avi file? can't i just open it?
You can open the .avi file but now you will need codecs. But i got VLC player. You guys says it can play everything.
VLC Player can play everything. But it can't play this.
Let's see what the file help.txt says.

This movie has subtitles as srt files. Here, they are in the SubRip format as srt files. This format is supported by most software video players and subtitle creation programs.

* For you to know about srt files just visit-- You must login or register to view this content.

* If you encounter codec error while playing-- then you still need to update your windows media player CODEC PACK available at LINK

* You can watch directly-- if error continues

* Prove us you are human-- bots and leechers are not allowed

The files can be used in the newest windows media players. Burn the srt file as a data file, to a data disc, together with the avi file. Make sure that the srt file and the avi file have exactly the same name and that they both are placed in the same folder. Usually you have room for 4 movies in one dvd disc depending on the size of the avi files.

Enjoy the movie!

Oh yeah right. Codecs from a site, where i need to do a survey first? and next download a virus yeah. No thanks.

But another way to spot this is a fake.
Check the subs here. and try find another with file help.txt and see thats the same language. And thats not even subs to the movie.

Example 2

You must login or register to view this content.

If you have readed How to Spot Fake Torrent Files

Can you easliy spot whats fake with this.

Trust .AVI and .MKV Files; Avoid .WMA and .WMV Files

For the most part, true movie files are either .avi (audio video interleave) or .mkv (Matroska files) format. Conversely, the great majority of .wma and .wmv files are fake. While there are some authentic examples, most .wma and .wmv files will link to other sites to get paid codecs or malware downloads.

So if found a .wmv movie file. Is it fake. This is only movies most p0rn is .wmv and they are real so DON'T Report them.

Example 3

You must login or register to view this content.

This one looks also pretty legit.
In this example look at the nfo file. Information Movie.nfo (nfo = information)
This example have i seen many times.
But leave the nfo file for now on.
Mostly in an example like this it will have a www.Torrenting.com.txt, torrent downloaded from www.scenetime.com.txt or www.Speed.Cd.txt file
If it have that check if the torrent is Uploaded by TvTeam, Scenebalance or sceneline.
If the torrent got the file but not uploaded by on of them will it be a fake.
Now Check the location. Check if it got any comments or maybe it got deleted.
If it got none comments or the torrent still are there.
So we're going and look for something else
Now lets take a look at one of the other Tutorials i made.
[Tutorial] How to Spot Fake movies with MediaInfo
Most of the times with an example like this you don't have to follow that Tutorial.
Mostly they got deleted or got some comments.

Movie + TV

Example 1

You must login or register to view this content.

This one looks real right?
But nope this one is fake. This needs codecs after downloaded.
If you find any off this don't report it. You have to look after somethings.
This one is easy.
First thing with this one is: The movie is not even released in the theaters.
Second: Lets take a look at the location.

You must login or register to view this content.

This one comes from the site Fenopy.
And after you have clicked on the link you will see something like this:

You must login or register to view this content.

Now try click on the uploader. And see his torrents.

You must login or register to view this content.

5xSuper 8. Here can you see its fake.

This Example come most with TV Shows.
But try to the same here.
Go to the location and check for comments. Check the uploaders uploads.
For TV Shows will there mostly also come x 5 of them.

HOPE THIS HELPS Happy
