it is possible to mode server sided games but not just using your phone it would require a packet sniffer a decrypter and alot of things a phone cant support

He was offline. He went into offline mode and modded the gems. (meaning he wasnt connect to supercell's servers) so when he went back online to connect to supercell's severs, it was back to normal. Sorry for ruining your secret here bud and trying to get everyone all happy and jerk off to you.
