i am completely new here. I hope I can show you my problem in the right way.

I have an Iphone 3gs with Ios 4.1 and the Ipad baseband 06.15.00 (I flashed it when i got it, so i could unlock it)

I then had it, and everything was fine.
Today I wanted to upgrade it to iOs 5.1. Everything seemed nice. I got a custom firmware from another forum and played it per SHIFT in itunes on my phone. Everything seemed to work, but in the end i got a white screen. The phone is not reacting anymore, but is seen by itunes when i connect it. It is in DFU mode and it cant escape.

I the searched the internet and found out that i may have put the wrong custom firmware on the phone. It was for the old bootroom. So i think I need the one for the new bootroom.
I heard I have to open the Iphone and disconnect the battery, so the RAM is deleted. But i dont really want to open it, because I may break it.
I am currently letting all the energy go, maybe it works.

please help me. I need that iphone

i worked very hard on saving my iphone 3gs now.

a reset on redn0w does not work. there is no software in my iphone.

i now wanted to fix it with a custom firmware with redsn0w. I downloaded many Ipsws, but no chance. (4.3/5.0/5.1)
i suffered from many errors like 3194 and 1600/1601/1604/21.

When I set my device in DFU with redsn0w, activate the Tss server on tiny-umbrella and want to shift/restore my iphone everything starts. The apple sign goes on, and the white loading stripe shines. But only to 5%. then it shuts down again and i get the error 14. I hate it, because I cant get over it.

Changing the USB wire or the Usb-port does not help. I cant do anything. So now I am currently moddeling a 4.1 custom firmware. I read in the internet that 5.1 is not possible with baseband 6.15.00. So hopefully it works, but I think it wont.
I think i will get error 14 again.

well. thank you guys. after hard hours of depressing errors I won.

The thing i did is that after hundreds of error 14´s, I tried to use another way to make my own custom ipsw.

I used sn0wbreeze and activated the IPSW. Then i used tiny umrella and its tss-server.
I restored my device and it functioned. thats all i did.
