I'll keep this short. Got an iPhone 3GS on 4.2.1 from a mate, it had been stored away for about 2 or 3 years & never used. When we got it out, they couldn't remember the password. They thought they'd try & remember so they tried a few pins, then the phone locked itself & asked to be plugged in to iTunes. After rebooting the phone, it let us try one more time, then locked again & won't unlock, it's been on the disabled screen for well over a day now.
I've tried restoring it, but it asked me to put a password in, (lel) so I put it in DFU mode & tried flashing 4.2.1 (hoping for a christmas miracle, since the signing window for 4.2.1 was closed in 1993.) & to no surprise, it didn't work.
So then I thought I'd just update to 6.1.6, nothing could possible go wrong with that... So in DFU mode, I tried installing the latest update, letting Apple download it through iTunes automatically. First, I got error 11. I tried again, and got error 3014. I tried using TinyUmbrella, unsure if it even worked anymore, but it didn't help. I only get those two error codes, though, but not in any pattern. And yes, there is NOTHING in my host file blocking any connections whatsoever, and I've tried turning my AntiVirus & firewall off.
Is there
anything I can do? Don't just tell me to bin it and get a new one, I have an S4 phone as my main device anyway & collect both Android & iOS devices, older the better.

that, and the 3GS was my first smartphone, and this particular one is absolutely mint.
Cheers, and merry christmas.
