(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hi everyone my first thread/post here.

i got my Dazzle DVD recorder for 49 dollars from Frys.

tossed the pinnacle recorder software and picked up Pinnacle Studios 12 Ultimate online.

my setup is using DAzzle DVC 100
Samsung ln-t5271f lcd

PS3

Composite cables with S video as well.

anyways the bottom line is the quality sucks.

i mean i know Svideo or Composite is not great but its at lesat clear on my TV

why is it on my PC its fuzzy and out of focus? Mind you i havent even converted it yet at this point its still a raw file (even after converting same results)

the video has color and picture and sound but thigns are just a little fuzzy andout of focus and you can really tell when you see text in the display and the text seems to overlap itself ever so slightly.

i have tried running the S video cable directly from the PS3 to the Dazzle to rule out a splitter issue and it remained un changed.

i watched numerous youtube dazzle COD test videos and their videos appear to have better quality

i have tried converting to every possible combination file type size etc that Pinnacle offers.

AVI, MPEG, FLV, DIVX small, medium Best, Custom. it doesnt matter..

i just dont understand why my quality sucks and others using the same darn setup has way better quality.

i even tried changing PS3 from 16:9 back to 4:3 as well as in Pinnace Studios too no change.

currently im waiting for a youtube video i just uploaded to finish processing so i can show you exactly what i mean.

im sorry i dont have it right now ijust have to be patient for youtube processing. hopefully it wont take long since its already in 640x480 and FLV format.

i just cant imagine if this Dazzle is called DVD recorder then why when i have the PS3 directly connected to the dazzle doesnt the picture quality match what i see on my tv? my TV is blowing up a 4:3 480i picture on my 52inch lcd just fine with out graininess or fuzzyness why the heck does the picture look worse on a 17 inch lcd monitor.. wtf

i would hate to buy this for actual dvd recording purposes as it would absolutely suck for me if that were the case

thanks for any help or advice

here is my video it finally finished processing.

please dont tell me how garbage i am i know it, im just trying to get the quality first down right now.

click on the link at the top of the embeded video to see the supposed High Quality Version

I actually figured out what was happening.

the PREVIEW window in the Pinnacle studio software dumbs down the video file when previewing with in the program (i can only guess its for efficiency issues so the software doesnt lag when editing and makes the program quicker when importing various scenes/clips from other video files for editing) however if you open windows media player or VLC player and browse to the recently captured video file it looks perfect exactly how it shows on my tv with no fuzzy or blurr.

so i started editing my first montage last night , wont be finished till later this week.

i have searched around and found the preferred settings that youtube prefers the most to accept the video and not crap out the quality as bad.

640x480 DIVX codec, 30FPS, 128kp MP3 audio

making sure that the source video preconverted is the highest quality first. the bottom line is you wnt the best quality video to give to youtube but still keeping it under the 1gb max rule. also more FPS is not always better sometimes less is. in this case youtube prefers 30FPS rather than say 50

hopefully will have it posted up very soon.

thanks guys.
