(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I wanted to know if this laptop is good enough for a Hauppauge and also for an EasyCap... And if it has what it needs to even turn the Hauppauge on.
Thanks ahead of time Happy

Just read the manufacturers minimum specs and make sure your specs are slightly or much better.

From the Hauppauge site:

System Requirements
Note: when playing back video recordings made with the HD PVR, a fast CPU and at least 256MB of graphics memory are needed.

* Processor Requirements (minimum): Dual core CPU 2.0GHz or faster
* Graphics with 256MB memory (or greater)
* Sound card
* CD-ROM drive for installing the HD PVR software

I'm not good with this tech stuff and I noticed you help a lot around the video editing area so could you click on the link of the laptop I'm looking to buy and let me know if it'd be good enough or even better than to support the Hauppauge please? Thanks :]

It's possible that laptop will run the hd pvr capture software (Total Media Extreme) and playback the hd video, but it's most likely going to be laggy/choppy because the minimum requirements call for at least a dual core 2GHz cpu and a video card with at least 256mb of memory. I would spending a little more money and getting this You must login or register to view this content. they may sell out soon but I'm sure you could find a similar deal. This is a dual core 2GHz cpu with a decent video card (ati radeon hd 4200) for a little more then the laptop you were looking at. If it's not important that you get a laptop and you can use a desktop pc I'd go for this You must login or register to view this content. which is about the same price as the laptop but more powerful (quad core) all you would need is a mouse, keyboard, and monitor or hdtv to use as a monitor.

Here's an idea of my system (I have a HD PVR also) running the Windows 7 assessment test this is my score:

I have a AMD Phenom II x4 940 (3GHz) quad core, 4GB of memory, and a XFX Radeon HD 4830 video card. The HD PVR playback and recording runs flawlessly on my system.

I'm using a desktop not a laptop. I paid around $750 about a year or two ago.
