At least I can fight
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); 1) Is there an HD PVR that records the video files to the HD PVR itself, instead of having it record to your PC; making it so you can later transfer the video files to your PC? Like an HD PVR that has memory?

2) Is there an HD PVR like above ^^ that also allows playback from the HD PVR to the TV?

3) Is my only PS3 out option component cables for recording?

4) Do component cables go up to full 1080p?

5) Do component cables transfer the full 120Hz?

6) Is there a delay going from the PS3, to the HD PVR, to the TV?

7) What HD PVR or HD recording devive would you recommend for me?

Thank you if you answer me. I would like to make some sick MW2 videos.

Haxor!
It only goes up to 1080i or 720p... idk which is higher lol. If u try 1080p (which my tv is) it just goes black. I personally like 720p next to 1080p. 1080i can be a little delayed IMO. Hope this helped!

720p>1080i

Overall 720p would probably give you the best quality

NO

2) Is there an HD PVR like above ^^ that also allows playback from the HD PVR to the TV?

No.

3) Is my only PS3 out option component cables for recording?

No. You can use composite or component cables. I believe there is a new HD PVR coming out that will allow for HDMI.

4) Do component cables go up to full 1080p?

No, they go up to 1080i. My HD PVR records in 1080i.

5) Do component cables transfer the full 120Hz?

Not sure on this one.

6) Is there a delay going from the PS3, to the HD PVR, to the TV?

No. If there is, it's not significant that I can tell.

7) What HD PVR or HD recording devive would you recommend for me?

HD PVR is pretty user friendly. Files are easy to edit in Sony Vegas. I don't have experience with any other HD recorders.

See my answers above. Smile

2) Is there an HD PVR like above ^^ that also allows playback from the HD PVR to the TV? NO

3) Is my only PS3 out option component cables for recording? You could use composite (yellow cable) or S-Video, but it will be SD (standard definition).

4) Do component cables go up to full 1080p? In theory they do, but for the HD PVR it will only support up to 1080i

5) Do component cables transfer the full 120Hz? This is based on the TV, not the recording device.

6) Is there a delay going from the PS3, to the HD PVR, to the TV? Yes there will be a slight delay. I'm using a quad core PC and there is a slight delay.

7) What HD PVR or HD recording devive would you recommend for me? HD PVR or Black Magic Intensity Pro. Go with whatever is cheaper. You cannot record using HDMI on the PS3 due to HDCP protection. The only way this will happen is if Sony releases a firmware patch that will disable the protection for recording gameplay. Don't believe anyone who says you can record through HDMI on the PS3. It's been proven that you can't.

All of my answers are based on the fact that I own a Hauppauge HD PVR.
