(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); *Note* This is my tutorial which I have posted before. But now the editing and design room is becoming more popular i thought why not repost it.

---------------

Well since this is in the Video editing section ad I didn't see anyone put up a tutorial then I guess I'll make one my self.

--------------
Programs

First of all you must get a good editing program.

I recommend for Intermediate Editing

  • Sony Vegas
  • Adobe After Effects
  • Blender

I Recommend for Advanced Editing

  • 3DS Max 2010
  • Cinema 4D
  • Final Cut Pro(Mac Only)

Out of all these I recommend only Blender is free and it is a 3D editing program. It can be found at You must login or register to view this content.

I won't tell you how to get the rest of the programs but you may find them if you go to the premium section by donating 10 dollars to NGU, or you can find them on YouTube.

-------------------
Basics

Now that you have the editing software lets go through some basic information.

Do's and Don'ts

Don'ts

  • Rush editing
  • use mediocre effects(Effects found in Windows Movie Maker)
  • Use Overused Music
  • Put out a product with something you are not comfortable with
  • etc..
  • Rap music

Do's

  • Take Your Time(Can take several hours to days)
  • Use original music or nothing to too typical
  • Use Dub-step/Drum and Bass(DnB)/Post-Hardcore
  • Original effects and transitions

--------------
Plug-Ins

Many Video Editing Software have things called Plug-Ins

These plug-ins give you extra effects/transitions, However they come at a hefty price. You can find them for free on YouTube.

Here are some popular plug-ins

NewBlue(Sony Vegas and several other programs)

Video Co-Pilot(Adobe After Effects)

Templates (Not an plug-in, It is used for 3DS Max, Cinema 4D and Blender)

-------------
Intro

A professional video almost always has an intro

*Never make an intro with Sony Vegas*

  • An intro usually looks best in 3D
  • They Involve material or info about the rest of the video

------------
Music

I have already Discussed music but its not just about the type of music its how you you synchronize it.

A well synced video can make or break the video

I suggested the music i did because rap has very repetitive beats while the music i suggested alternates several times.

-----------
Using Music and Effects Together

you can't just slap any part of the music to any effect

ex: Using a screen shaking effect with a quiet beat. That doesn't make sense at all does it.

Usually in editing programs there is a bar for the audio. It shows the volume of each frame and then you can match up the effects and synchronization to.

------------

I hope I helped and leave feedback and suggestions and I will be sure to update.

"Use Dub-step/Drum and Bass(DnB)/Post-Hardcore" - No thanks. can't stand that music, too repetitive.

Don't use: "Dreamscape" By 009 Sound System. Most annoying overused YT song ever!
