hmm, not sure on the guy... the one without him looks great but the way he is just THERE is kinda weird, if you can find a way to make him fit in I think it could look really good, maybe like he broke a hole in the background and burst through so there is stuff flying about... if that makes sense ?

how do you make a background like that? i've always wanted to know, i think its amazing. if you could post a tut you'd be my hero. and the guy doesnt mix well with the background

I like the second one, i dont think the depth is bad, to me it looks like hes standing in front of an old demolished wall, like the colours, nice work

durk: I don't think the version with him there needs to be changed, really, I think the problem is that you already see the version without the sprite, so to your eyes it looks like the sprite was a last-second addition (okay it really was, but I fixed the colors and lighting!).

exhaale: Pretty simple tut, let me post below:
1. Take pictures of a cool-looking rust spot
2. Import to computer and make it look not grainy, but still keep its texture.
3. Duplicate a couple times and make it look groovy.
4. Fix lighting, colors, depth.
5. ???
6. Profit.
