This is My SonyVegas Masking tutorial, it has no video because my computer is lame. But just follow the lines and you will do it good.
Prior Knowlegde: Pan Cropping, KeyFraming. And u will need to be able to read.
Difficult: HARD.
NOTE U will need SONY VEGAS PRO! not Platinum ore Movie studio's but PRO.
Alright to start off, Make sure u got a picture u want to mask. U dont have to use a picture. Video's are fine too but alot harder if ur a beginner.
so, To start off make sure u know the frame where u want to MASK.
go to the frame and chek the Mask button. ( u might not have it, Read the top why not)
alright u got a list of tools when u chek the mast button, Make sure Snapping is off because u don't want any trouble's right?
Go to the Second Tool Called: Anchors.
If u want to Mask u will be needing to place anchors around the part u want to mask.
if u connect 2 anchors it will be a PATH, Paths are used to mask out something.
When u masked out something the path should be yellow, If not make sure all ur Anchors are connected.
Then ur path should be Yeeloow
So just stop reading and go out MASK something out.
--
PART TWO- The AfterMask.
After u masked out a part u will be needing to Chek the tool box on the left.
u will see 3 Parts called:
position: wont be using this one rightnow,
Path: we be using this one now.
Workspace: lame, used for panning/cropping onley. And pesifik ( dont no the spelling srry for that ) Masking.
-- PATH
When u masked out ur part, and want to add effects to it. ( thats what masking is all about. Adding Effects to a small part off a screen/Clip )
When ur Ready with ur mask and want to add effects go to MODE.
Its on positive so u won't notice ur mask on the Video Preview. Put it on Negative To See What you masked out,
Positive: Onley the part you masked out will be shown
Negative: onley the part u masked out will NOT be shown
Disabled: speaks for itself.
opacity: wont be using this one right now.
Feather Type: This is used for Double Masks onley Like this :
You must login or register to view this content.
When u have a Part masked out, but in the inner space there is some background left, mask that out too and u will be needing Feather type.
When u double masked something Go to feather type and press both if u want both Negative ore Positive ( depents on what ur MODE is on )
-In: Choose this one and onley the inner Mask will be effected by the MODE changes u made.
-outside: speaks for itself.
-Both: same.
Feather (%), this will correct the FADE off a Mask, If its 50% it will be Very Light
If its 0% is will be very dark offcourse Thats just logic. ( dont need to be a math guenius to figure that one out )
And yeah well then ure done masking. U can always Screw around with it testing some things.. And it will be okay if u just followed these lines.
