I made my avatar myself, but my previous one I just done a search on.

Simply search '____ avatar'. There's pretty much an avatar out there for everything you search.

To add an avatar go to your User Control Panel and select Edit avatar.

When you have an avatar that you want, simply upload it by clicking browse or you can upload it to an image hosting website and insert the direct link in the HTTP box.

when i go to edit avatar it just lets me choose ones that r already there

Sorry, I forgot to add that you will need to have 20 post, 100 reputation or be active on NextGenUpdate for 30 days to upload a custom avatar.

If you fit one of the above, you can upload a custom avatar.

You can make an avatar on Photoshop or find one online.

I was also wondering about the avatar thing, I dont even know how to post one or a sig this site is a little different from the ones I usualy use

Its all in the User CP. Look to the left it will say what you can change.
