so which one should I get? my birthday is tomorrow and this is pretty much one of the only things i want xD, i dont really need much since I pretty much have everything i want.

DVD recorder. I found it quite nice.

Why not get a HD PVR?

Yeah why not get a PvR? But I would go with the DvD recorder tbh.

Neither if you can afford it get the Hauppauge HD PVR it's a better buy but it's also like $130 bucks more than the dazzle so depends on what you want to spend.

Hauppauge HD PVR are a better choice but are also considerably more expensive and you may need a fairly decent computer system to get the best out of it.
Out of the dazzle series the best is video creater platinum

Don't waste your money on a dazzle. You can get a HDPVR for like £120 and nobody watches Dazzle quality videos anymore...
