You know, I had known I would lose. Not only is Ganja a great artist, but it doesn't take a sociologist to realize that people are more drawn to the flashiness of digital art over the simple messages of photography.

I'd like to quote a post from the battle, from +ta.Diasho, who gave a pretty decent interpretation of what I was trying to accomplish with the image:

I believe Dep went for a kind of wasteland outlook. Modern warfare surrounds itself with the real threat of Nuclear weapons/apocalyptic war. If Nuclear weapons were used deps tag enlightens the likely outlook of that which is an empty wasteland with no trace of anything.

A desolate landscape with only a vaguely distinguishable object still standing, a sky filled with smog and dust, the sun muted behind the debris in the air; the sight is still red from the fires burning off in the distance...

Leave no trace. Everyone must die. Take no prisoners.

It's all the same idea. Win the battle we're fighting now, and then when you have, win every battle that ever could be. Win this one so completely that your opponent will never be able to fight again.

I may be one of the more knowledgeable or experienced of the artists on NGU, but I don't consider myself the best. I don't know why I should.

There are a dozen or so really strong artists on this site, each in our own way. I don't think it's fair to call me the best.

tbh you cant really ccompare Dep's work to anybody elses (i think) on this site as their all Completely different styles.. dep goes for abstract most of the time.. u have to look hard to see what is cleaverly meant by the tag..

I love the concept you went for, i don't think anyone would have gone for that.

But, it's the text that puts me off, i think it would have been great without!

Nevertheless, great job Dep!

I didn't get the concept straight away but when Daisho explained it to me I understood the beauty of it.
I have seen your CnC around the forum recently it's great to see a experienced artist like yourself putting so much effort to help people.
