I bought an avertv hd dvr card i have it installed with the latest drivers from the site and i have my ps3 hdmi plugged into the the hdmi port.

the problem i have is when i bring up vh capture to record my video all i have is a black screen i was told to bring up aver media center to unlock the hdmi signal but that doesnt help either. however when i got crossbar under avermedia BDA analog capture secondary and switch it to s-video the screen flashes to my ps3 screen for a second and then goes black again.

if i open up aver media center alone and go to hdmi it works i can see the ps3 screen.

The avermedia hd dvr, unfortunately for you, does not support HDCP. In other words, you got raped.

iv seen a bunch of other people using the card on youtube and stuff though :S
as well it is listed under capture card on a sticky under this section

well i believe people are using component when using ps3. i have an xbox and i use it fine with hdmi.

i may be wrong about the hdcp thing but idk

Use fraps to record w/ HDMI.
it work for me... look at my vids.
