Looks nothing like Aaron's style.:???:

Anyways, they have very undefined focals and generally lack effects.
No offense, but a bit noobish. Only solution: keep at those tutorials.:y:

Good luck on the next one!Winky Winky

Woah woah woah, I'm only here to help you get better. I only post to assist you in improving your next tag. You need to stop thinking you're some art god and realize that the best way for you to get better is taking in what advice people give to you. Why were you offended when I said invest time in tutorials? Do you even know what a tutorial is? Let me help you, it's a vital learning device in the world of graphics, probably one of the best ways to pick up techniques and improve.

Not trying to instigate a fight here, but your response seemed over protective and no offense, but a bit childish. Get your act together and take what others give you. Get your act together if you ever hope of ranking up with one of the greats. I hope to see more producting posts and improved art in the near future, best of luck to you.

i understand u were just trying to help, but dude look at ur tag, its a braground, a render and some c4ds.. no offence but i could do that when i first began.. 4 years ago. Im in schooling for arts, and i do odd here and there ads for a club called empire ball room in edmonton google it.

i know my last post was a little protective but hey you and me both know its better than what you can do, just being honest from what i see so far. also if u think i dont know what a tutorial is ur blonde or very young, iv made many that have helped out thosands of ppl.. well prob not thosands but prob high hundreds. ad if u want i could even make one for you =] seeing how you like ur c4ds h-core. and im sorry im not like u and still following tuts for years on end, i quit them over a year ago and just being going freestyle, if i see a technique i like i do it to the best of my ability. if i see something new that i like i ask ppl how they did it if i get no response i go fool around on ps for a bit, and at some point i will get it if not close to it. sorry if this seems like a big bitch war but it aint, im just trying to prove my points of view were im not the beginner/noob you are or atleast ur very basic. if u still think i am take up my challenge of making the spawn one, that one has no c4d's or anything just brushes gradient maps and ya oh one smoke render but u can leave that out it barley changes the graphic

Wow.

You have a seriously bad attitude towards other people. I don't think quite grasp the concept of constructive critizism. You posted here looking for advice and then when you get some you go on a "better than you" rampage.

Let me give you a bit of advice here. You cannot continue with an attitude like that if you want to get anywhere in life because the majority of people you meet will not tolerate it. Your graphics work and I speak for most people on this site when i say this is novice at best. Your best pieces have come from tutorials you have found off the internet. Theres nothing original about it.

Sort yourself out or don't bother posting in this section again.

Odd, I thought art students were a little more understanding of constructive criticism... Tell me, out of all of the professional art critics you know, how many of them are master artists?

Instead of attacking him, trying seeing if what he says can help you. To be fair, he didn't say much, but that doesn't give you a right to attack him.

Now, before I actually critique your tags, let me say: I'm a 6-year veteran of digital art, using GIMP, Photoshop, Illustrator, Cinema 4D, and Alchemy. I have been a part of more art forums than you have, I can guarantee that, and whether or not I'm better than you in making art, I'm better than you in critiquing it.

Okay, your first tag is the worse of the two, just to start. The focal is too dark to be noticed well, try lightening it up and killing some of that soft brush lighting behind it. As for placement of your focal, I think it would have worked better if you moved it up some, so part of the horns are cut off - they don't mean as much as the rest of the body, and more of the breastplate would help to make the focal more recognizable.

With your background, I'd like to see a little more work done. Smudge or displace it - that normally works for a quick fix. If you spend some time with smudging and different filters, you can do anything with a background. Your flow isn't half bad - at least you knew what you wanted - but a few things hurt it. First, in the background, the statue's arm goes against your flow. Second, the vertical line (not the one created by the edge of the stock, but the one created by the stones). And third, the vertical lines in the background that are subtle but still there. If you can fix these, you'll be a lot better off.

When it comes to your C4D use, don't just throw them in and move on. Unless you want it to be 100% obvious that you used a c4d render, smudge it, displace it, warp it, do something to blend it in. Otherwise, it's a little ugly for anyone who knows what they're looking at.

Your colors are good, and the tag is a little too dark, but that's not a huge problem so I'll let it go. Work on what I suggested, and this could be a lot better.

Time for the second tag!

Much better than the first, I actually like it, in fact. Like OG said, though, your biggest problem is making your focals visible. The colors are nice, and the c4ds are a bit too obvious, but that's not bad considering the style you were inspired by. Really, the only things I would work on in this tag are the focal, and the colors. I like the accent of green on the focal's eyes - try using that in a few other places, too. It can give a really nice effect.

As for the focal, the problem is again that it's just too dark. Lighten it up, dull the lighting in the background a bit, and you should be fine.

There's really not much else, I can say. There's no focal, but again for this style there doesn't have to be. There's no real depth, but again, not really needed with this style. So, it's okay for what it is. Just keep working at it. =)
