Its a nice start.
The grass in parts seems a bit random and those eyes are creeping me out a bit too.

I think the eyes look weird because theyre so vibrant opposed to the skin colour, but the eyes arent finished either. Also thats just a rough base for the grass. Took me a fair few hours yesterday to get this far, im still pretty new to colouring/painting so it was about getting technique right too.

Nice man, be sure to post the finished piece. I think its good apart from the grass, i know you mentioned technique but the grass is in random directions and I'd like to see his face. very well done though to have it looking this good in early stages you should be very excited and anxious as to how this is going to turn out, i know i am :p
