Can someone teach me how to do this?
or should I just switch to PhotoShop?

Thanks

So you want a render?
Just save the PNG file and then open it and then copy and paste it. I do that then i delete the render after.

Just use paint's (NOT PAINT.NET) eraser. It takes along time though.

If the background is a totally different color from the body then use GIMPs Smart Crop Cutter

^Don't do that lol. Using MS Paint to make a render would be impossible. MSPaint doesn't allow transparent backgrounds, anyway, just get photoshop. Donate here to get it for free.
