Error… Cat invasion!
ill start with netbook being your problem, they are not built for heavy software so try your dazzle on a different system

Tell me what software do you use to record? And what operating system do you use?

Don't Fear the Repear
Hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete go to task manager, right click the Studio 14 process, or Instant Dvd Recorder, and set the Priority to High. Try fiddling around with the options in Studio 14, or Instant Dvd recorder so that it minimizes lag. Don't run any programs, or anything while testing everything. Leave the charger plugged in to the computer if it needs one. Try using different USB ports. Typically some have more power then others. Make sure you have at least 10gb or more free hardrive space.

Another thing you can do is clean your computer up, use Glary Utilities - You must login or register to view this content.
It can do a lot of things. Last you can try bumping up the Virtual Ram with Glary.

If all this doesn't work download Teamviewer so someone or me can help you out with your problem first hand. Teamviewer is a desktop viewing, and helping program. I don't recommend this, but as a last resort you can contact Pinnacle support about your problem you can find them here - You must login or register to view this content.

well i use instant dvd recorder and i used to have xp but upgraded to vista and a little while after i realised i shouldn't have because netbooks are not designed for vista. but when i had xp it worked fine and then when i upgraded it was fine for a little while but then it started to lag. i've used loads of programs to try and speed it up but that did not work.

is there any way of downgrading to xp without using a recovery disc?

Studio 14 HD, and some of the versions 10+ are really laggy, so if you got a dazzle that isn't HD you can downgrade your software to Studio 8

Edit: Actually you can only get Studio 10, but that is a lot less laggy then Stuido 14 anyway. You could also use instant dvd recorder, then convert the .vob files later.
