Was just wanting to get a few questions answered about getting videos edited, and was hoping this was the right place to come..

I will just make a list of what i have been wondering, so here we go!

1. What is the going rate for most editors?
2. Is it cheaper to just buy my own stuff to do it myself.
3. How easy would it be to do it myself?
4. If it is easier to do it myself, and i need to buy some stuff, anyone have some used gear?
5. Is there just some program like windows movie maker but more advanced i could download?
6. Are there editors that just do this for free cause they love me? haha jk

I hope this post doesn't annoy anyone. I just have been making some montages with the BO theater options, but want to get some better quality stuff for my new youtube page.

Hope i can get some solid answers and start making/getting some nasty videos up, i have tons of footage, but im just tired of having to render, upload, download from youtube, video convert and so on and so forth... GETS OLD

LET ME KNOW!!

1. There is no going rate.
2. You don't buy editing programs unless you wanna pay out 500-1000$ lol.
3. Eh if you worked at it, and TRIED to get good at it you could do it yourself.
4. Just torrent the software for editing if you really want it or pay for it.:pirate:
5. Sony Vegas pro 9, Adobe After Effects, Premiere, Final Cut pro, other ones too i think. Sony Vegas pro 9 for me is the Easiest to learn. The rest are harder.
6. I'd edit for free for you if you didn't harass me about it /facepalm

I could teach you if you want. Just don't count on long sessions.

I would like to try torrents first. Adobe After Effects is for like intros right?

And not here to harass i would love to learn this so i could make some nasty vids. I already do graphics that i taught myself

Good, i agree most of this you should learn your self, because its just so easy to learn. After Effects is the only thing I'm not entirely familiar with after reading, and watching tutorials. Just harder to get After Effects to stick for me, I'm sure if I put enough effort into learning it though I could. After Effects has the most features, options, tools, etc.

What type of graphics did you teach your self on? Photoshop?

If you want the torrents you are going to have to pm me with your computer specs ( Go to Start>search for system>click system and It'll all be on the first screen just copy, & paste it )

Also I highly recommend you get a Quad core computer at 2.5 ghz each because then video editing will be a lot faster. Dual core can barely do anything with these massive programs . Also get a helluva good gfx card

I do stuff in photoshop yea..

Um my computer is actually pretty solid. Its got a AMD athlon IIx2 235e 2.70 processor. 6 gigs of ram, a Nvidia geforce 220 i believe is what i put in it. then i have plenty of internal and external space.

I downloaded Sony vegas pro 9 or w.e, seems really cool, BUT as far as editing the clips from renders black ops theater videos, cant do much, cause they are such low quality and if i try to like say put the clip in slow motion, it just hacks it to shit. Need to find a capture card.

Anyone know where i would download sound effects for intros?

Just get intro music off youtube, and download it with AtubeCatcher - You must login or register to view this content. there's a convert option so you can automatically download youtube videos and convert to mp3. As long as you don't make money off what your downloading you'll be fine. There's tons of intro music, x ray dog, immediate music, i think selenium is one, etc. I can't remember all of them atm. Sound effects, Video copilot has a sound fx package, you can probably torrent that.
