1. The Render should be a little bit bigger.

2. Be creative. Think outside the box for effects.

3. You could use a stock, like a piece from a wallpaper.

4. Try using adjustments, filter, etc.

You should be good. Like most designers say, follow some tutorials.

^ Very nice tips, i suggest you use those and these:

-Place the render in the center
-choose a larger more effective render
-Make the background your own, dont just take some c4d's and stick em on, add some blur and other effects|

Try to use the same render for a first try but then do it again with a different one
