Try to blur the background behind your render to create some depth, it's looking pretty flat at the moment. Not really liking your choice of type neither and the "i'm on a boat"-text wich is barely readable is pretty random too.

Creating depth is not really that hard. Just be sure to sharpen your render a little where you want the focus to be and blur the stuff you want to be in the background or "far away"-looking. The things in your background you'ld like to pop out you should try to sharpen a little.

So sharpen the main part of the focal on the render e.g his face and kinda blur out his shoulders a bit to create some depth ?
