I have the right setup and everything because I have already recorded with my PS3.

I usually play using the HDMI cable and that works fine but have to record playing using the AV cables. So do I have to change settings in my XBox or is it my Television

yep ive had that problem if i connect the Y Splitters to my dazzle i have sound threw my tv and just a black screen on my comp but on my ps3 i sussed how to work it before but i forgot how i did it now on my 360 it jus has a black screen on my comp i cba with fixing it now

make sure your xbox is set for TV, and make sure your TV is set for Composite.
