In this tutorial I will teach you how to get the best quality out of your capture card. Using this method almost gives you a guarantee that you not will be getting audio lag.
Here is a preview of what you can get:
SETTING UP
START OFF BY DOWNLOADING THIS RAR FILE! IF YOU DONT HAVE WINRAR, GOOGLE IT!
1. Open up the folder PluginZ
2. Open up huffyuv-2.1.1
3. Right click huffyuv.inf and press install
4. Move the file called deinterlaceAreaBased.vdf (located in pluginZ folder) to the folder called plugins in
virtualDub folder.
5. Right click x264vfw... (located in pluginZ as well.) and run it as administrator. Install it.
CAPTURING
6. Run virtualdub.
7. Cick "capture avi" (located under the tab file)
8. Click the tab called "device". Then click your "capture device". (For ex. Dazzle dvc 100 video device)
9. Click the tab called "video". Then click "compression".
10. Select "huffyuv"
11. At audio select your capture device aswell.
12. Click the tab called "capture" and click timing then copy these settings: You must login or register to view this content.
13. Click the tab called "video" and then click capture pin. Select PAL if your in europe, NTSC if in america
and SECAM if in Asia. The letter (PAL_B for example) behind those doesnt really matter, but if your gameplay
looks a bit wierd you should defo try everysingle on out.
14. Click the tab called "video" and click preview.
15. Click "video" again and click levels. Mess with these levels until you've found something you like.
16. Click "video" again and click No display.
17. Now you can start recording! =D
COMPRESSING
(and adding filters) (optional)
12. When your done capturing open up virtualdub again.
13. Click the tab called "file" (dont go to capture avi)
14. Click "open video file" and locate your videofile.
15. Click the tab called "Video" and click "filters".
16. Click "Add".
17. Find and click deinterlaceareabased.
18. Click OK then OK again.
19. Click the tab called "video" and then click compression
19. Click x264vfw... and click OK
20. Click the tab "file" and click "save as avi"
21. When its done you can delete the old file.
Doing this will lower the size of your file without quality loss.

Q: Why does my audio get out of sync?
A: There are many reasons to why your audio is out of sync.
1. Your timing settings isnt set properly. To fix this follow the following steps:
1a. Click the tab called capture and then click timing. Take a look at this picture and copy what i've written.
2. Your capturing in a different framerate then the source. PAL is 25. NTSC is 29.97. Secam is 25 aswell.
2a. To fix this click the tab in the bottom right corner and change it to either one of the above depending
on what region you live in.
3. Your dropping and skipping frames.
3a. Your computer isnt good enough, this shouldnt be an issue.
4. Your computer is ****ed up
4a. Running as administrator might help.

Remember to render in 1280:760. Adding some cc will also improve quality.
