Honestly, I can't really say anything negative about these. I really like them, the colors work good. Black and Red always go, and you used it perfectly.

Click on the image layer, go to the image menu>adjustments>desaturate.

Then make a new layer over the image layer, change the 'layer mode' to color, get a small circle soft brush at like 80% opacity with the color set to red and brush over the parts of the image you want red.

In the second one he just used an image of an explosion above the original image layer and set it to either screen, overlay, color dodge or soft light. Smile
