(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ok, so i made this for a GFX blog i started but i cant be arsed anymore so ill just post my tutorials in here instead Smile

In this tutorial you will learn the basic's of creating a professional "glossy" look on your text in literally no time at all. Well, what are you waiting for? Begin below.

Ok, Start by creating a new Photoshop document (any size, but i'm using 500, 250 pixels)

You must login or register to view this content.

Than add you text, if you want to know the font i used was "impact" and the size was "100pt" and the color code was "49abe4"

You must login or register to view this content.

Now we have our text we can proceed. Add a new layer (CTRL + SHIFT + N), right click the new layer and choose "create clipping mask"

You must login or register to view this content.

Head on over to your eclipse tool and drag it onto the area you want to be "glossy", be careful not to highlight too much; a good guide would be around 40% of the text / object should be highlighted.

You must login or register to view this content.

Next step is to apply a white overlay, you can do this via either the brush tool or what i did was simply use the fill tool. Once you have that out of the way you can remove the selected area by pressing (CTRL + D). Now you will be left with this:

You must login or register to view this content.

Doesn't really look "glossy" no does it? Well we havent finished yet!, to bring out the "glossy" look you will need to drop the oppacity down; The ammount varies depending on color, size, Ect.. but for this example i set it to 27%.

You must login or register to view this content.

Done! Smile

Now if you want you can add any extra effects you please. Here is the finished product:

So you expect people to be born knowing how to this?

I see what your saying, yes its simple but the reason i made the tutorial was because hundreds of people asked me. And that's just me, im not exactly popular so that shows that people want to know how to do it.
