Not sure why, it works like a charm when I open it,
Try to drag the file into Cinema4d,

Are you running on a Mac system? I did a quick-search and found out that you can't open a windows created .c4d file on a mac system, unfortunately,
I'll see if i can convert it to a Mac .c4d file,

Remove all your plugins from C4D and try again, if a plugin fails it will fail to open the file,
If that doesn't work, then re-install Cinema4D
