There's a good colour scheme to this and the bg smudging is done well. Unfortunately that's the best of it. You should try to blend the render into the bg, simply smudge the edges a bit or use a clipping mask on a splatter brush over it. Without any blending, it looks like a simple render being pasted on top of it and that it would work with any render out there. Try to make the render a part of the sig instead of simply a focal point.
I'm not a fan of the positioning in this. Do what you can to stick to the rule of thirds (if you don't know then simply google it, there's a bit on wikipedia that describes it well - just read the intro to it, no need to read the entire article) and you'll see a big improvement in your overall composition.
The text isn't great but it's often the last thing people focus on improving once they've got the other stuff down. I can link you a few tutorials on text if you want but it's not necessary atm.
There's fantastic light reflections on shepards shoulders and I think that you could utilise that brilliantly. Adding an artificial light source above him (maybe a little to the right) with a soft 200px white brush would make a world of difference.
