To resize it press Ctrl+T to select it. Then Hold shift and drag the corner closer to make it smaller. To change the angle select outside the c4d and it will allow you to rotate and press enter to deselect
No, I understand the basics. Its like on a C4D it has a background so when I put it on top of a layer it covers everything behind it. I can seem to get just the effects of the C4D to show up if that makes more sense. Its hard to explain.

For instance, this was a TuT I found and didnt notice any difference when he added the C4D. I just didnt notice any effects when I added them.
