If your going for metallic you need a few things:
1. Usually 1 colour and maybe a few shades of the same colour. I wouldnt change from different colours because it doesnt look metallic then.
2. The shine, you've got this so i wont say anything about it Winky Winky
3. Sometimes a pattern will help, im pretty sure there is a metallic pattern which may help especially on a low opacity.
4. Bevel and emboss may also hope because then it can look like it is engraved etc.

There are also basic styles to apply to make your text look better oveall:
1. A shine is always good but again you've already got one Winky Winky.
2. Good colours which match your background - self explainatory.
3. Your background is well designed for a simple and sleak look, which would go well with a metallic text style.

Overall the text looks pretty sleak and simple, id say a 4/5 because it does look cool.
However to get a better look of metal id advise trying to keep to different (or one) shade of grey. I would also have your background a darker shade of grey to whatever shade you have (e.g. Light grey for the text, darker grey for the circular area and then the black "border" like area. (i assume its a radial gradient?)

Ok well if you make changes be sure to post back Winky Winky Its a good start at typography :p

Btw, if you want me to make u a tut for anything typography related just PM me Winky Winky Ill probably give metal text ago and see what i can do, ive done it before but i cant find my results =/
