First off, your path tool technique is slow and bad. Better tutorial for that:

As for the color changing, it's better to add the color you want in two shades, a darker shade around the pupil, and a lighter one for further out. Then set the layer to Overlay, Grain Merge, Color, etc. until it looks good.

This is good but its too complicated IMO, i just use a soft paint brush and then change the blending options to one that looks good, and if none do i change the opacity then i just use the burn and dodge tools to add lighting and depth. Good job tho Winky Winky
