If you've ever seen the cell render effect used before in many backgrounds on YouTube then you'll know what I'm talking about and for those who don't well basically its a rendering effect which can be used in Cinema 4D to give a wire frame effect to a 3D model or some text. It's a real nice effect and you can use it in many different styles. If you don't know what the effect looks like then check the image below:

Step 1:
Assuming that you already have Cinema 4D open with your model, design or text ready to be rendered your going to head over to the render settings.

Step 2:
Now click the "Effect" button and then navigate to "Cell Renderer". After clicking on on "Cell Renderer" you should now see a new effect added to your render settings, select the "Cell Renderer" tab.

Step 3:
Now that we have applied a Cell Renderer to the text we need to change the settings to choose the colours of the cell. Tick the "Edges" box and make sure the "Outline" box is ticked and leave all others as default. I like to make the background of my cell black and the edges white but this is your decision, I recommend using a black background so you can clearly see your cell render.

Step 4:
Those are the only settings you need to change for the Cell Renderer, now apply your other render settings and hit Shift + R to render out your final cell image and you should end up with something like the below:

So that's pretty much it for this tutorial but you can also remove the Cell Render and render your text as normal and overlay the cell render in Photoshop using the "Overlay" blend mode to make a nice effect.
