Do a barrel roll!
Before you see the two concepts I came up with, I wanted to tell you what I did.
(If you don't want to read the 'How to' then don't open the spoilers)
For the first image, I used the font You must login or register to view this content.. I typed the letter 'B' in CAPS Lock, and cut the letter in half. I flipped the 'copy from cut' horizontally, and placed it in a diagonal correlation to the top 'half B'. Then I used the Rectangular Marquee tool and removed a very thin line from the overlapping parts, to make the two shapes look interlinked. I rotated the object 30 degrees clockwise and applied a gradient overlay to both shapes.
I'm open to positive and negative criticism.

So basically, I just started using Photoshop within the last day or two and personally, I think my skills are developing well.

Second Image is the same, except I transferred the completed logo into a new document and cut out the insides of it, from a black circle. Result is as follows:

Nice idea but there is a lot more work to do for this to look good. I can see a lot of mistake in the execution and it doesn't look very nice.

Any suggestions on improvement?
Bare in mind I'm new to it, but yeah, hopefully my skills and contributions improve in the upcoming weeks.
