Getting set up. What you will need. The basics really!

First of all, i would like to say thank you for checking out my thread! I greatly appreciate it...
So, let me tell you what this thread is about. This thread is solely based on how to start making YouTube, which contains some FREE graphics and tips. I have personally done YouTube and gained around 4k over two channels. I did commentaries and Lobby videos, you know! So i thought, with my knowledge and skills in Graphic design, i could make a thread that will get some people on their feet without having to dish out money, and searching all over the internet to get what their looking for. The reason i have added a Twitter section in here is because i think Twitter is a really good way to promote your videos, and communicate with viewers. This is where we make your YouTube channel look professional! I have supplied some templates that you can use for free! Everything you need is in the pack. The templates were made in Photoshop CS6. If you use them, please leave some kind of credit, because i have spent a lot of time on this!
The pack includes the following:

✪ YouTube Video Thumbail - Call Of Duty Themed ( GTA will be added shortly )

Here i will explain and show you how to edit the templates for your personal use. I have made the PSD files as clean as possible, hoping it makes it easier for the users! You MUST need Photoshop CS6 for the templates to work, i'm not too sure if they work on any lower versions. ( If they do, comment and let me know! )
✪Step 1✪ Open the template you wish to edit. It will have folders that are named in the 'layer' section. There you will be able to navigate which section you wish to edit.
✪Step 2✪ For example i will be editing the main text. What you want to do is navigate the 'Text' folder. There will be a text layer, that can be edited.
✪Step 3✪ Change the text to whatever you wish, once this is done you can adjust the line connected to it, which is located in the 'Lines' folder.

✪Step 4✪ Adjust the lines, and text and you're done. You can change the color of the text by adding your own gradient.

✪Step 5✪ You then want to save the picture. Go to File > Save As > Format: PNG or JPEG
Your pictures will the be saved and you're ready to follow the next step.

This is the first thing you will need. Without a YouTube channel you can't upload videos. Below are some steps to getting your YouTube channel up.

✪Step 2✪ There should be two options in the top right ( Upload + Log in ) Click "Log in".
✪Step 3✪ You will be redirected to a page that asks you to log in with your Google account. If you don't have one, be sure to make one.
✪Step 4✪ Once you're logged in, and at the YouTube home page there should be a user in the top right. Click it and press "Creator Studio"
✪Step 5✪ You will be prompt with the following message "You must create a channel to upload videos. Create a channel" Click "Create a channel"
✪Step 6✪ Put in the name you would like, then you have successfully created your YouTube channel! Well done!

Now i will show you how to use the YouTube banner and Logo. This is straight forward, but i am including this for the rookies of the YouTube scene. After editing all the templates or the selected ones, you want to save them as a PNG or JPG file.
Upload your banner:
✪Step 1✪ Go to your YouTube channel.
✪Step 2✪ You will be redirected to your channel, then you will see a blue button "Add channel art" Click it.
✪Step 3✪ Then you upload the YouTube banner file that you edited and saved earlier.

Upload your logo:
✪Step 1✪ Click the Logo which is located on the left side of your banner. Click the small pen/pencil.
✪Step 2✪ You will be asked if you want to edit your channel icon. Click 'edit'
✪Step 3✪ Click 'upload' and then upload the Logo you edited earlier.
✪Step 4✪ Adjust to however you want it, then you're done.
Your channel is now set up, you can add a description by doing the following:
✪Step 1✪Go to your channel.
✪Step 2✪You should see "Channel description" Click it.
✪Step 3✪Now you can add a description about you and your channel. I have provided a template below.
✪Step 4✪Once you have finished writing up your description, simply click "Add" then it will save.

The reason i have recommended Twitter as your main social media site is because it's simply the best for promoting, and sharing your videos. You can communicate with your viewers easier too. You can also follow your inspirations, and get ideas from other YouTubers.

✪Step 2✪ You can either "Log in" or "Sign up". Click "Sign up"
✪Step 3✪ Fill in your information, then create your account.
✪Step 4✪ You will be asked to verify your E-mail. Make sure you do, it's required.
Your Twitter account is now set up. Perfect, now we can work on getting it looking cool!

To start making videos you need gameplay. If you have a PVR or something that can record your gameplay you can skip this step.
* You do not need to upload your gameplay directly from your PS4 to YouTube. *
Gameplay Notes:
✪ Gameplay quality is amazing for the built in feature of the PS4!
✪ The files aren't big and can be edited in basic software.
✪ Videos are saved into MP4.
Things you MUST have:
✪ PS4
✪ PC or MAC
✪ USB
✪Step 1✪ Recording Gameplay
- Double tap "Share" button which is on the left of your controller.
- This will start to record the gameplay.
- Once you are finished, Press "Share" once.
- You will be promoted with a screen that shows "Upload Video Clips" and "Upload Screenshot"
- Press "Triangle" to save the gameplay you have just recorded.
✪Step 2✪ How to copy gameplay to USB.
So now, you should have some gameplay you want to use. Do the following:
- Insert USB to a port.
- Go to "Settings"
- Then down to "System Storage Management"
- Click "Capture Gallery"
- Select which game you have gotten the gameplay on.
- You should then see the things you have recorded whilst playing the game.
- Once you are hover over the gameplay/clip that you want to use click the "Options" button on the right side of your controller.
- You should see "Copy to USB Storage Device" Click that.
- Select which game recording you want to copy to your USB.
- Then got to "Copy" Which is at the bottom right of your screen.
- Once you click "Copy" you will be prompt with a message explaining where the game recordings will be saves on your USB.
- The PS4 creates a Folder which will contain the video recordings you have copied.
- Click "Ok" and the recording(s) will then copy over to your USB.
✪Step 3✪ How to get gameplay onto your PC or MAC.
- Connect your USB to your PC/Mac!
- Open up the directory of your USB.
- You should see a folder named "PS4".
- Once you have gone into the "PS4 folder, you will see your recorded clips.
- Edit your videos or do whatever you wish to them.

Sadly, i'm unable to help with this part. I can suggest things to do, but it's all down to you. It's about what you enjoy doing with your gameplay. I will recommend some programs that can be used to edit gameplay, with links to get them.
Editing programs - Windows

- You should see a folder named "PS4".
- Once you have gone into the "PS4 folder, you will see your recorded clips.
- Edit your videos or do whatever you wish to them.

Sadly, i'm unable to help with this part. I can suggest things to do, but it's all down to you. It's about what you enjoy doing with your gameplay. I will recommend some programs that can be used to edit gameplay, with links to get them.
